What this covers
- What a neck jig is actually for, and when you need one
- Materials and a cut list
- Building it
- Setting it up and checking it is accurate
Why build rather than buy
Luthier tools carry a specialist price tag because the market is small, not because they are complicated. A jig is a rigid frame holding a neck in a repeatable position — well within reach of a home shop, and you can size it to the work you actually do.
